Alan began his career with global accounting giant Price Waterhouse, rising to senior roles in corporate finance, both in New Zealand and offshore. Working closely at board level across a diverse range of publicly listed companies, gained him extensive financial and commercial experience.
Alan is a chartered accountant and was founding partner of a property centric accountancy firm which carved its niche in offering advice and services to the property sector. He helped many clients build high-performing portfolios, through strategic planning, asset structuring, feasibility of development projects and portfolio performance review. He developed property investment planning software, to help produce personalised plans for clients. As a Chartered Accountant and Authorised Financial Advisor, he is uniquely qualified to advise clients on mortgage and financial aspects of property transactions.
Alan is a co-founder of Erskine Owen and leads the business development and finance teams. He also leads the team on commercial syndication. He is licensed under the Real Estate Agents Act 2008.
Lisa is a co-founder of Erskine Owen. From a family that pioneered urban development on Auckland’s North Shore, property is ‘in her blood.’ The experience she gained developing her own portfolio has given her considerable insight into property investment strategy.
Lisa’s career began in accounting, progressed to business development and management consulting roles with iconic global brands. This includes experience gained in off-shore consulting, on projects in preparation for the initial public offering (IPO) for North America’s 2 largest resort real-estate development companies. A track-record in helping businesses grow their profitability, planning and achieving goals is a priority.
Previously Lisa had a professional alpine skiing career, having competed, coached and achieved internationally. She coached many of Hollywood’s A list celebrities and received an invitation to become a ski double in a Bond movie. Lisa brings her strive for excellence to Erskine Owen.
Lisa leads the property buying and property management teams. She is licensed under the Real Estate Agents Act 2008.
Simon brings to the table more than 20 years of experience in the banking and finance industry, holding several senior managerial positions within both banking and non-banking institutions.
In his most recent role, as a Senior Mortgage Advisor with a specialty in complex development finance, he utilised his extensive knowledge of the financial landscape and property market.
Simon's deep passion lies in assisting clients to achieve their financial goals and building generational wealth. As Erskine Owen's General Manager of Investor Relations, Simon is dedicated to upholding these fundamental values by leveraging his vast industry relationships and providing personalised wealth planning, prioritising each client's unique needs, circumstances, and goals.
Outside of work, Simon enjoys spending time with his family. His wife and 2 young kids are the driving force behind his passion for building wealth for generations to come, through intelligent property investment.
Wendy joined Erskine Owen in 2009 and is responsible for Direct Property Investment Acquisition and Mortgage Advising.
Having worked in the insurance industry early in her career, Wendy has gained extensive knowledge in property, including being involved in property viewing, due diligence, property management and project management. Wendy also has invaluable personal experience as a property investor herself.
Wendy has a Degree in English, a Diploma in Management, a Diploma in Interior Design and has a NZ Level 5 Certificate as a Mortgage Adviser.
Karen joined Erskine Owen in 2014 as a property buyer within the Direct Property Investing team.
Her career started in financial accounting, working in chartered practices and the telecommunications industry before embarking offshore.
Initially, Karen was involved in adventure tourism, responsible for clients safely traversing Asia, Africa, and South America on extended overland journeys. Following this, Karen applied her financial and logistical experience to operational management within the tourism industry, then into international aid and development in several post-conflict territories.
Experience encompassing all stages of project management culminated in responsibility for the budgeting, management and time bound delivery of multi-million dollar development portfolios for the United Nations in New York.
Karen has a long-term interest in property, gaining experience through both personal home sales and acquisitions and the development of her own portfolio.
She is licensed under the Real Estate Agents Act 2008, is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Masters’ degree in Sustainable Development from Central Queensland, University in Australia.
With a career spanning over two decades, Jared Halligan has earned a well-deserved reputation across various property types, from industrial and office to retail and medical properties.
Throughout his career, Jared has honed his skills in devising and executing comprehensive asset management strategies to optimise property performance and enhance value. He excels at resolving operational challenges, improving efficiencies, and implementing cost-saving measures, all while ensuring tenant and stakeholder satisfaction.
